Rafting for Schools

Can you capsize the others rafts, swap places with your team mates or scull the length of the lake before your opposition. True Swallows and Amazons style fun and games on our on site lake.

Our Raft Building sessions encourage Team Building Activity. Teams compete to build their own rafts from scratch using the basics provided before hitting the water for fun and games.

We recommend children are swimmers, although the lake is only just over a metre deep in most places.

What our customers say

I would like to say a very big thank you from all the staff and children at Water Mill for making our stay at Oaker Wood unforgettable. The children had a wonderful time taking part in new activities and doing things they never thought they would be able to do. You all looked after us really well and your staff are a credit to you.

Watermill Primary - June 18

The children had a fantastic time and the staff were really impressed too. The food was great and went down well with the children. Please pass on our thanks to all of the staff. The children didn't stop talking about them. It was so lovely to have staff that really encouraged the children; many of the children achieved more than we expected and it was all down to their encouragement.

St Martin's Primary - Hereford - June 18

On the journey to Oaker Wood I thought I was expecting too much. I came back knowing I'd expected too little. Everything from the rooms to the activities were better than I ever imagined. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

Y6 Pupil - Heber Primary School - June 18

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all at Oaker Wood for the fantastic two days we spent with you last week. Year 4 had a great time.

Almeley Primary School - May 18

Just wanted to thank you and all of your staff for another fantastic visit to Oaker Wood. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as have the staff. All the Instructors were so professional and kind, and the organisation so well thought out, that the trip ran like clockwork.

Eardisley Primary - May 18

I’d just like to email and say what a great time everyone had at Oakerwood last week. The staff were fantastic as usual, thank you for making the trip so easy for us.

Weobley Primary School - May 18

Thank You all for great couple of days. Both Students and Staff had an amazing time and felt thoroughly looked after. I am sure that you are thinking that some of our guys might not have had a Special Educational Need but that is because you were so patient and understanding that their behaviours and anxieties did not become apparent. I can’t thank you enough for making our visit such a positive experience, you really are an amazing team.

Jo Binnersley - Westfield School - March 18

We had one camp village with pods to ourselves which made it easier to allow the pupils to be under our supervision during free time which was good! The staff are very friendly and very approachable and most importantly child friendly. Hopefully this will be the first of more visits planned by our secondary school. Cheers Oaker Wood

Holte School - Oct 17

First time of taking out school pupils to Oaker Wood. The pupils stay in camping pods which I thought were quite accommodating and warm with heaters that automatically switch on if the temperature goes below 18 degrees. The site itself is very impressive with an array of activities to suit all ages and abilities spread over the site.

Holte School - Oct 17

Our students had the most amazing day and were still talking about the trip weeks later. Thank you so much to you guys at Oaker Wood for all your effort is making sure our day was just simply perfect for all

Kingstone High School - July 17
